Meet Toni, Your Physiotherapist

Stonefields Headache Solutions is owned and operated by Toni-Maree Neary.  A returning kiwi, that went for a holiday to Australia and returned 17 years later, home is always home and this is where her heart is.

Toni-Maree’s career started after graduating in 2016 from The University of Sydney with a Master of Physiotherapy.  Before that she attended The Australian Catholic University gaining a Bachelor in Exercise and Sports science.   From then Toni has worked strongly in private practice with some time in aged care.
Toni very soon undertook Dry Needling training and has used it very successfully through her practice finding it has been the key in changing chronic pain conditions and helping many patients.
Toni has continued her education in Clinical Pilates, Running Rehab, and most recent since 2020 has completed the three levels of the Watsons Headache Approach and Complete Concussion Management.

Toni’s deep passion in improving people’s lives that are affected by Migraines and Concussion comes from a personal history of chronic migraines from a child and concussion later on.   Thus being a keen motorcycle rider in her 20s, unfortunately took a massive blow that lead her to personally overcome BPPV and concussion whilst trying to complete her Masters.  From having treatment from her lecturer Prof. Trudy Rebbeck in Sydney Australia, Toni truly experienced the healing impact vestibular and upper cervical-based physio can have for both her and her patients.  Since then, Toni has trained with Dr. Dean Watson in both Sydney and Adelaide building an immense passion in drug free headache, migraine and concussion treatment.   Since moving back to New Zealand in 2021, Toni has worked solely in the headache, migraine and concussion sector having a huge impact on her patients lives.

So with her strong background musculoskeletal physiotherapy and headache specific treatments.  Toni understands both the physiological and psychological influences of injury, recovery and the impact of the upper cervical spine on the brainstem and the connection to headaches and migraines.   The often delayed and detrimental effects of whiplash and post concussion symptoms that plague people and can be treated.

Patients can expect an in-depth initial consultation and assessment to find the cause of their head pain or related symptoms and receive an individualised treatment plan to both treat and prevent further symptoms.  The goal is to have the patients have a full understanding of their head pain and master their own recovery through education and knowledge.

Each treatment is personalised to each patient’s busy lives and takes into account challenges they may face.  Using evidence-based treatments to gain results in a safe and effective and timely manner.
